周国逸,男,1963年5月生,博士,研究员,博士生导师。中南林学院森林生态专业硕士学位;&160;东北林业大学生态学专业博士学位;&160;东京农工大学环境生态专业博士后。现任中国科学院华南植物研究所鼎湖山站站长。CERN会同生态站学术委员,中国林学会森林水文专业委员会常务理事,广东省生态学会理事,广东省环境科学学会理事。

以人类社会对水资源稳定而持续供应、温室气体吸收与排放平衡的需求为驱动,将森林生态系统作为调控媒介,阐述其不同阶段(造林→成熟森林→地带性森林)所涉及的关键水碳循环过程及其机理,为人类社会和环境可持续发展提供科学支撑。主要贡献如下:
1.阐明森林对产水量影响的全球模式并论证科学的森林恢复并不损害水资源供应
2.发现成熟森林土壤可持续积累有机碳并阐述其机理,论证全球“碳失汇”的可能去向和天然林保护的必要性
3.发现全球环境变化背景下常绿阔叶林群落的变化趋势并阐述其机理,为国家应对全球变化决策提供支撑
